B is for Brus (an exhibition held at De Brus in Dunfermline, Fife 2014

B.    I never got around to documenting this exhibition which my printmakers workshop held at a place called  De Brus (The Bruery) in Dunfermline, Fife in  2014.  It's a restaurant cum brewery cum wine bar.
The exhibition was hung by members of FDPW which tends to mean Bill McKechnie (our fantastic informal printmaking artist technician, qualified engineer and so on etc etc) and possibly Steve Ratomski who takes responsibility for a lot of this essential aspect of us presenting exhibitions.  Colin Beaumont also helps out with this kind of activity.  I'm afraid I would be of no use in these situations because of my physical decrepitude, for want of a better word.

See that guy on the left - well that's Bill - looks like he is hanging one of Sheila Carnduffs fab screen prints.  I would put a link to Sheila's website except that she dose not have one !!!

I must try to remember to ask her WHY she does not have a website...I mean Sheila has made lots of work etchings and screen prints - don't know how much work she has created using other techniques.....but there must be loads.

The prints that were on show at this exhibition were those that we, as a team had produced especially for presentation at the Impact8 Printmaking Conference, which was held at University of Dundee, UK in Sept 2013.

That was such a busy time for me and an experience which would not have been possible without the support of my very good friend Sheila Borthwick - what a gal!!

That's my piece behind the guy in the centre with the blue anorak.  I am going to do a separate post about that 'suite' of prints.  I can also recognise the lovely Betty McKechnie, who out of the goodness of her heart, keeps our accounts in and admin in order.  We are extremely lucky to have the benefit of her experience - mind you her "wit" is always welcome especially on the grey days of winter which one can quite often expect in Winter and Autumn (come to think of it in Spring and to a lesser extent in Summer too).  Oh and thats Sheila Carnduff speaking with Stephen Ratomski (I am only guessing that it IS HIM since he has his back to us).
